HOW WE CAME TO BE

The Students in Appreciation of Animation & Film (SIAA) was founded by the dynamic duo, Rebecca Beavers and Madison McGill, on April 9, 2022, after wanting to create a safe space for those who are passionate about animation and filmmaking. Throughout the year 2022 and the beginning of 2023, they worked to expand SIAA's purpose to the Morgan community and took up the title of "shinobis" for our members as we are students who are learning the true way. On February 7, 2023, the Students in Appreciation of Animation & Film became an official organization on Morgan State University's campus and plans to continue to teach the Morgan community the Shinobi Way.

OUR PURPOSE

The Students in Appreciation of Animation & Film is dedicated to creating an environment that is based on a love of all things animation & film. We aim to create a safe space for students from all walks of life to come together and hold debates, celebrate wins of all sizes, fellowship with one another, educate themselves on the different genres of animation and film, and overall help them to discover themselves as animators, filmmakers, and fans.

About: About

THE SHINOBI WAY

As a student shinobi, I pledge to be kind and humble in every way. To show honor and respect to my authority figures and peers and to uphold our purpose for the rest of my years. To exhibit self-control and impulse restraint, take responsibility for my actions, make good decisions, and work hard in everything I do. To be inclusive and welcoming of everyone even if their takes are different than mine. I pledge this very day to follow the shinobi way.
